Graciela Bernasconi
Artist’s Statement

Graciela Bernasconi, is originally from Uruguay and now lives in Bethesda, Maryland. She works as an Ultrasound Technologist and started taking painting classes in her late 30’s. Since childhood she has been interested in painting and art in part through the influence of her family, which counts several excellent painters.

Ms. Bernasconi’s formal training took place at the Smithsonian Institute, the Clara Barton Art School and the Art League School in Alexandria. Her work is abstract and characterized by vivid high tone palette and use of finger and other mixed media. Ms. Bernasconi likes to transform the outside world in to abstract paintings which speak to and challenge the viewers.
