Stay Informed About Gallery Activities

At the Foundry, there is always a show in progress in both of our galllery spaces. Gallery 1 features monthly solo shows by one of our members or guest artists. In Gallery 2, member artists exhibit fresh and original works that have never been displayed at the Foundry before. There is a completely new exhibit in both galleries each month.

In addition to art exhibits, Foundry also offers other events ranging from artist lectures to demonstrations to musical performances. Check this page often to see what’s happening at the Foundry Gallery and be sure to check us out on Facebook.

CALL TO ARTISTS: Foundry Gallery is calling artists in the Greater Washington Area to submit work for our August 2013 Juried Show. Entry deadline is June 1.

About the Exhibit

I paint emotions, and I paint them in colors.

Joy, love, sorrow, frustration, excitement... a warm orange red cheers up a gloomy midnight blue... a big, bold jealous deep purple takes over... let's invite a bit of white to make peace.

And so these large fields of color start talking to and playing with each other, layer over layer, foundation colors under translucent colors under contrasting colors, it's all a moving target of shapes, lines, and textures. Rolling, brushing, dripping, spattering, slathering. They all add up to tell the story. My story, your story.

In an informal and open setting, Ana Elisa will share what inspires her to paint and drives her to abstraction; how her current solo show “The Colors I’m Feeling” was conceived and developed; and how she achieves the depth, translucency and gloss that makes her work unique.
