Abstract Blues

Donna K. McGee

Exhibit Dates: September 1 – 26, 2010
Opening Reception: Friday, September 10, 6 – 8 pm

This show, Abstract Blues, presents a new palette for McGee. Her new work is organic in nature and evokes images of underwater scenes. It is meditative and yet reveals new images as the eye explores the canvas. Using an occasionally bold but generally muted palette of blues, greens, and texture, she offers images that appear marked by the passage of time.

Donna K. McGee acquired a liberal arts degree from Goddard College, Vermont, and a Masters of Education from Pennsylvania State University. She continues to study at the Yellow Barn Studio, Bethesda, Maryland. McGee is a member of the Foundry Gallery, Washington, D.C., Women’s Art Exchange, and an abstract group, OUTLOUD. McGee has exhibited in New York City and won awards in two international juried shows. Her work is in private collections in New York, Washington DC, Oregon, Maryland, Vermont, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Illinois.
