Membership Information

 

Full Membership:

Gallery I: $101 per month.
Gallery II: $129 per month.
Galleries I & II: $180 per month.

Full members join for a minimum two-year period, are encouraged to participate in group shows, and exhibit as a solo artist for one month. At the end of the initial contract period, membership is renewable. Full members are significantly involved in the operation of the gallery and many hold executive positions. Full members are required to gallery-sit once a month, participate on a committee, and attend monthly meetings.

Guest Artist:

Gallery I: $2160 per one-month exhibition
Gallery II: $2760 per one-month exhibition.
Galleries I & II: $4000 per one-month exhibition.
Guests artists renting gallery space also pay a 30% commission on sales. per one-month exhibition.

Guest artists, who may also live outside the Washington, DC area and wish to arrange for an exhibition in the gallery may apply for a Guest Membership. Guest artists are represented on the Foundry Gallery website, in addition.

Foundry Gallery is now accepting applications for a July 2008 guest artist show in Gallery II. Entries with slides, photos, or images on CD accompanied by a CV and artist’s statement should be submitted to the Gallery by February 15, 2008. The fee for a one-month exhibition is $2,760.

Application Process

Prospective members should send the completed application form, a current resume, a sheet of 10 - 20 slides, and any other reproductions or relevant information. The Membership committee and the Gallery Director review applications and portfolios on an ongoing basis. Selected artists are invited to bring 4 to 5 pieces of original work for the general membership to view, and judge on the third Wednesday of each month. Final acceptance will be determined by vote from the full membership during that meeting.
