Artist Statement

I create paintings that depict moments in everyday life that resonate deeply with me, capturing the essence of fleeting emotions such as loneliness, tension, and peace. Based on photographs shot from the hip, my work often features abstractions of figures, botanicals, or landscapes. I am particularly drawn to the interplay of shadows, transparencies, and the repetition of form, which emphasize the layers of experience in our daily lives. Through these visual narratives, I invite viewers to reflect on their own connections to solitude and the subtle beauty found within it.
